With The Latest Engineering Specifications, Al-Fao General Engineering Company Begins The Countdown To The Opening Of The Jadida Al-Shatt Water Project In Diyala
Engineer Ya'rub Qahtan Al-Awad, Director General of Al-Fao General Engineering Company (a division of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities), announced the continued progress of the engineering and technical teams on the Jadida Al-Shatt water project in Diyala Governorate, implemented for the Ministry's General Directorate of Water.
The Director General confirmed that the project was designed with a production capacity of up to (2,000) cubic meters per hour to serve more than (150,000) people in the Jadida Al-Shatt district and surrounding villages. Al-Awad explained that the project is in its final stages following the successful completion of the trial water pumping operation, and the current work plan is divided into three main axes:
1. Technical Systems And Equipment: Installation of flow meters for the filter building and pressure gauges for the high- and low-pressure pumping buildings, along with the installation of the service pump and calibration of the sludge skimmers for three sedimentation basins.
2. Systems And Operation: Operation of the chlorination and disinfection system within the chemical building to ensure the quality of the produced water meets standard specifications.
3. Construction And Site: Completion of the final painting of the chemical building and paving of the internal roads above the water bridge at the main entrance, after securing the main intake site overlooking the Tigris River and laying (33) kilometers of transmission lines.
Al-Awad emphasized the commitment of Al-Fao General Engineering Company to completing the project according to the latest engineering standards to enhance the service sector and provide potable water sustainably for the residents of the governorate.
