Prime Minister Launches Balad Water Project: (4,000) Cubic Meters / Hour To Address Water Scarcity In Salah Al-Din

🟦 Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani launched the construction of the Balad Water Project in Salah al-Din Governorate on Thursday, December 25, 2025. The project is being implemented by the Al-Fao General Engineering Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities. The ceremony was attended by Engineer Ali Hussein Abdul-Amir, Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities; Engineer Ya'rub Qahtan al-Awad, Director General of the Al-Fao General Engineering Company; the Director General of the General Directorate of Water; and Engineer Haider Rajab, Assistant Director of the Projects Department at the company.

🟦 The Prime Minister emphasized that this project is a vital strategic initiative for the Balad district, as it will provide potable water and eliminate water scarcity in the area. He stressed the project's importance in improving services for citizens.

🟦 The Director General of the Al-Fao General Engineering Company stated that the project is part of the Iraqi government's efforts to strengthen infrastructure and improve the delivery of potable water to citizens.

🟦 Al-Awad explained that the company has commenced work on this project, which has a production capacity of (4,000) cubic meters per hour, adhering to the latest international standards. He emphasized that Al-Fao is committed to completing the project within the specified timeframe and to the highest quality standards. The project is being implemented under the supervision of the General Directorate of Water, affiliated with the Ministry.
