In Record Time And With Iraqi Expertise, Al-Fao Engineering Company Enhances Baiji Refinery's Capacity With A Giant Oil Storage Tank
Engineer Ya'rub Qahtan Al-Awad, Director General of Al-Fao General Engineering Company (A Division Of The Ministry Of Construction, Housing And Public Works), announced the successful completion of the crude oil storage tank project at the Salah al-Din Refinery in Baiji District. He confirmed that the project has entered service after passing all necessary tests.
↪️ Technical And Engineering Details:
Al-Awad revealed that the project encompassed not only construction but also the complete Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) cycle, from design and procurement to installation and commissioning. The tank features the following specifications:
🔹Type And Capacity: A floating Roof tank with a storage capacity of up to (25,000) cubic meters.
🔹Ancillary Systems: The tank is equipped with the latest cathodic protection technologies, self-extinguishing and cooling systems, as well as precise measurement and calibration systems.
🔹Integrated Implementation: The work included all mechanical, electrical, and civil aspects to ensure the tank's long-term viability.
↪️ Project Significance And Achievement Record:
The General Manager emphasized that this achievement represents a fundamental pillar for increasing the refinery's storage capacity and ensuring the smooth flow of product, while also enhancing occupational safety systems. Al-Awad commended the "Exceptional Efforts" of the executive team, which successfully delivered the project ahead of schedule. This reflects the company's accumulated experience, having previously completed six tanks of varying sizes for the Al-Sumoud Refinery in the same area.
