The Minister Headed the Especial Session of the Housing National Council with the attendance of the general secretary of the General Secretariat of the Ministers Council and the head of national investment commission and Baghdad governor and representative of Ministries of Planning, Finance, Displacement and Migration, Interior, Municipalities, Public Works, electricity and many representative from the concerned institutions.
He said that while the meeting a discussion was made about the slums in Baghdad and the necessity to take measures to control them and limit its extension in the future. The Housing National Council was serious in set the suitable solutions to the slums and eliminate it completely and discuss the proposals submitted by the committee of sheltering of the displaced people and set the recommendations and suitable and urgent solutions.
He also confirm that a discussion was made about providing the suitable land to build housing complexes in Baghdad and the provinces and the important of investment sector in the implementation of housing projects by attracting the good investment companies that implement projects in a manner of fees within housing projects, taking into consideration the necessity to involve the Ministry of Construction and Housing in the implementation of infrastructure projects because of its expertise and engineering and technical cadres.
He called for activate the role of Iraqi housing fund by providing the finance to participate in solving the housing crisis.

The Minister pointed out that a central committee had previously been formed to count the slums in Baghdad and define the place of the slums if located in a place suitable for housing complex then services will be provided to them, while if located in an important and strategic place in Baghdad, an alternative houses would be the solution.

​The Minister announced that the Engineering and technical staffs in Hammurabi state Company with the supervision of the roads & bridges directorate are implementing several roads on the south provinces, one of them is Highway R\6 with three sections and they are (47) km and (130) km also the branch road of Samawa province at length of 28 km, the total length is more than 110 km and the total coast reached 208 billion IQD.
the Minister said that the Ministry also implementing number of roads at length of 87 km in Waset province at coast of 17 billion IQD, and in Dewanya province the Ministry implementing the road of (Dewaneya_Afak_Al Bideer ) in two stages at length 52 km at coast more than 35 billion IQD.
The Minister added that the Ministry implementing these projects in the south provinces in order to raise the construction and to increase the services for the citizens.
The Ministry also started to furnish the second path of the road (Samawa_Nasereya) under the supervision of roads & bridges one of the Ministry entities after accomplishing the work on all the work stages in the project at the second path of the road Samawa_Naserya at length of (48)km with coast of (25.366) billion IQD.

The Minister announced that al faw state company accomplished the project within the ministry plan to execute the service projects over all Iraq provinces.

He said that the building consist of two floors. It contain libraries, rooms, and the healthy and electric work.​

​The Minister announced the accomplishment of the entities building in Basra province which will be occupied by the Buildings, Housing and Roads & Bridges Directorates.
the Minister added that the new building contain three big floors which will contributed in providing comfortable space for the employees to perform their job perfectly.
the Minister said there is a combined missions between the three directories in the provinces and this building will contain all their employees at the same place this thing will make an easy mobility and coordination between all of them, plus saving on the expense of the transportation.
The Building Directorate previously announced preparing a plan to build a joined headquarters for all the Ministry entities in several provinces.
The Minister said the Building directorate is in charge on implementing projects of the investment plan in the sector of general building according to contracts with State Governments or private Companies (Iraqis, Arab and Foreign), the State Commission of Building have a highly expert Engineering staffs in all fields like (construction, Building, electrical, mechanical and health).
